I see some of the later numbered series lo-boys bringing near that in restored or extra fine condition. If it is a cub lo-boy as opposed to one of the number series, it would have to be an immaculate restoration to be worth that in my opinion.
I would not personally spend that much for one, but then, I'm a tightwad!

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I'll agree with BD, He's a tightwad. In my opinion 2500 would be tops.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Yes and No
Yes because they are not making them no more and you just have to have it!
No because I paid 3800 for mine with mower, plow, disk, front mounted blade, weights and chains. Plus a new paint job and rubber.
Offer the guy 2500 and go from there.
Or do like I do and say "I don't mean to insult you, but here is what all give you." Remember you can never go lower, but you can always go higher.

what does it mean when he says overhauled? If that just means new rings and a tune up kit watch out. But if it is a complete rebuild new pistons rings bearings valve job all the goodies just remember how much that cost if you buy a tractor for $2500 and then have to spend $500-$1000 on a rebuild for it. See if you can find out more on the engine rebuild if he did or a shop did find out what was done.
I agree still go for a lower price and go from there.

I seen a lowboy go for 3,800 and nothing done to it, he said the engine has 850 worth of new parts, pistons ext.

Hey "POWER"...When some guy tells you he's got $850.00 into it...make him show you the receipts  ! If you're like me...you file away every receipt in a file folder with your tractor's bill of sale for future proof :D ! When a serious tractor buyer is gonna lay out 3 grand or more on a "restored" tractor...he ALWAYS wants to see receipts 8) ...ESPECIALLY when it comes to engine rebuilds  .

Try "Dickerin" with him on the price too  ! Most sellers set the price a little high  (knowin' they're gonna shave some off to make it a win-win deal)
