Wiring Advice

Postby DEAN » Tue Feb 08, 2005 11:38 pm

I am getting ready to start rewiring my 49 CUB.After doing some research I think I have a cut out relay not a regulator. The only wiring diagrams I have found are for a regulator set up.Where might I find a wiring diagram for this. The relay has 3 connections and I can not see any markings as to which connection is which. Also my 4 position light switch is missing the resistor and dimmer resistance coil.Any advice on the wiring and where to find these parts would be helpful.
THANKS

Chad, if you are responsible for those drawings, I say "Thank you Sir!" I have used them and referred others to them numerous times. Having them in the cub FAQs is absolutely great!

Thanks again!

I second Big Dog. Thanks for those drawings. They have been a big help to me too.

Yes, Chad did both wiring diagrams in 2002. If you mouse over the diagrams on the FAQ, his name shows, same as many of the pictures.

I was working on some fairly extensive changes to the FAQ at the end of 2001. That is when some of the pictures were added to the first page. I got those changes put in and put out for viewing by the Cub community. After that batch of changes, Chad offered to draw up a wiring diagram. He drew it up using a Farmall A diagram for a schematic reference. This diagram was the incentive for creating page 2 of the FAQ. Page 1 was getting large enough that a split seemed like a good idea. I pulled a couple of the "less frequent" questions off page 1 and put them with the wiring question to make page 2. This was around June of '02.

After that addition, questions started coming up on the wiring for the regulator equipped tractors. So Chad and I talkad about it and he offered to draw the second version. He drew it by modifying the earier diagram, based just on verbal description. This was finished and added to the FAQ about September, as was the PTO question. I added the implement page around the same time.

Other than the parts cross reference, I don't think there have been major changes to the FAQ since then. I believe Ralph's pictures were added a little later.

Chad. I second everyone's comments on your schematic. Very easy to read and came in handy for me.

Dean. Check this thread out for some of the issues you are asking about: http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewto ... c&start=15

BigDog gives the field resister specs.

Hope this helps.............

Thanks guys! and a big thanks To Jim Becker for talking me through it and I learned a lot since I did my wiring at the same time I drew them up. If we ever need anymore I would be glad to draw them up.
Chad Penny

I have also gave Rudi Drawing for the fast hitch helper spring and mount and I have the hand crank in the same format.

Hey Chad,

I, too, have benefited greatly from the diagrams.

A big THANK YOU :!:
