I have found a fast hitch for my Lo-Boy at a salvage yard not too far away from me. It is missing the lift rod that runs from the touch control rockshaft to the rear. I cannot find a rod, since, understandably, no one wants to part out a complete fast hitch. The shipping on a complete hitch adds over $100.00 to the price. Do you all think it would be feasable to fabricate a rod and if so are there any lo-boy owners who would be willing to measure and sketch out the deminsions of the rod? What diameter stock is it made from?
Thanks in advance.

Dan
I think if you can buy the fast hitch for a low enough price buy it. Remember to use that the rod is missing to deal with them to drop the price.
My lift rod has been broke and welded a few times and each time it has been fixed.
So what I am tring to say is I think you could build one really easy. What I was thinking is buy some 3/4" shafting and buy to rod ends and guess and the length and if you needed more length you could screw in or out the ball ends like a tire rod on a car.
I hope this idea helps. You would just have to drill and tap the 3/4" rod and screw in the rod ends and then to get the correct bend in the lift rod you could heat it up and bend it in the vice.
Good luck

Would picture help? Again I'm not sure if the rod's the same on the low boy. I think Mr. Becker has a low boy with fasthitch?
Mike
I have one but mine has been bent and straightened and had reinforcement added etc. The only useful measurement I could probably make is overall length.
By the way, if you make one, get some real good material. Common steel rod will probably fold up like a pretzel.
