$#@!* stereo hookup...

Postby allenlook » Thu Jan 13, 2005 1:23 pm

OK, I've got the surround sound speakers installed on the front headlight stalks and the rear hitch bar, and the sub woofer is tucked under the seat next to the battery box...

I managed to mount the CD changer on the footboard and it fits between my feet pretty good... I have the MP3 head unit and the Sirius satellite radio unit mounted on the steering shaft support column and I can reach them really good, although I'm having some trouble operating the smaller buttons with my work gloves on...

I mounted the neon light bars up under the hood on both sides, and two more in the back under the floorpan - it looks "trick"...

The only problem is my 6V system doesn't have enough juice to run it all, and when I turn on the wipers, I get a buzzing noise through the speakers, I think the amp, which I mounted to the front grille, isn't grounded quite right.

So, for the time being I've had to forego not only the interval front and rear wipers but also the power windows, and turn off the GPS in-dash navigation system! Oh well, live and learn - I'll post again when I get the overhead drop-down DVD screens hooked up :)

Allen - check your grounds. They're always the problem! :) :) :)

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

As they say (although I don't remember it being said here), "This thread is worthless without pics!"

You can ctually hook a 12V generator up to the PTO. Since it turns fast, it has plenty of output to run all of that stuff

Put the electric door locks on by-pass and try it. If that solves the problem you may want to consider switching to the optional atomic freemistatic convulator or the hydrostatic gemulator.

If you had a bored out ashtray and oversized floormats, it would be complete. A new set of muffler bearings may be needed.

Scott:

This is similar to sending a young apprentice for say a sky hook, left handed screwdriver, soft headed steel hammer. 3oz sledge and that sort of thing.

They is playing. Don't get your head twisted around too much....

Maybe this thing needs one of those "coffee Can" tailpipes to give it that street sound!

Where did you mount the radar detector (slow speed warning)?
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
