Cub Stand

Postby Brent » Fri Jan 07, 2005 10:35 am

Thought someone might be interested in the stand I built out of scrap angel. Came in handy working on the Cub. Later I welded swivel casters on the bottom of the legs. Harbor Freight $3.00 ea. Moved around easily. Don't look too close at the welding.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Brent: Do you have measurements on the splitting stand? If so, I would like to obtain a copy. Is the saw rig still working well for you? Thanks, Dan

Dan,

I'll get the deminsions and e-mail them to you. The weather has been bad here for so long I've almost gone through 2 cords of wood, so the saw is going to work again shortly. I cut the saw guard out the other day and added a claw to hold the log for that last cut. Keeps your hands away from the saw. I'll send you a picture as soon as I get it all hooked up.

Great stand.
Someone asked the other day what the "tongue weight" was at the torque tube when the cub is split. Most of the weight is naturally at the axles. Can you put a bathroom scale under your stand and see what the weight is at the torque tube and post the weight. I used the term "tongue weight" for lack of a better term.
GW estimated less than 100 pounds. I'm curious.
Thanks

Brent:

Elegant!

I too would like a sketch with dimensions. Nothing too fancy, can fancy it up for the server if you wish. I think it would make a great addition :!:

Mac,

I would have to split the Cub again. That picture is about a year old. I know weight wise that stand will hold alot.
