Hello All,
I've had no luck finding a used swinging drawbar anchor bar (p/n 351 433 R1), my Cub came with the rest of the parts just no anchor bar. I'd rather buy a good used one, but if none are available I am sure I could make one if somebody could get the dimensions for me.
Thanks, Glenn

Hey Glen. Go to TM tractow supply. Tom has a couple for sale. You know the over all dimension It has to fit between the rear wheels The bends bring the flat you anchor to up to the level of the draw bar. Fom the pictures and the length similar to the draw bar you shopuld be able to scale it out. John offered to go to the Min tractor show for pictures of 501. I would be glad to come out and help you do it if you send tickets!

Bill,
I tried TM first but they only have complete sets, I just need the anchor bar. On the tickets, I don't think you should even consider comming out this way until it cools off a bit, yesterday it was close to 80 and the thermal shock might be to much. All kidding aside, it has been quite warm for the past week, but this follows two weeks of record cold and rain, now there's a nasty ultra dry East wind blowing at 30 to 40 knots, all the plants and animals are really mixed up on what season we're in.

Seriously Glen You talked about building one. I don't think in it a difficult job. You have the swinger that is the tough one. The pictures at TM is what I meant. The between wheels is a fixed, the hanger just has a couple of bends, three holes in it and the slots in the turned up ends. If you look at the pictures you will see that the raised center flat is about 1/2 of the total length., The bends = those at the welded end of the draw bar. With a drill, hack saw and a file to clean up you can put the slots in the ends.
I think you can do it if just get access to a burning outfit. Welding I ask my neighbor to do. Bending Cutting and drilling I can do, and so can you. If a clutz like me can do it. You will have no problem.

Glenn,
I haven't made one, but I did make an alternate drawbar so I could mid-mount a grader blade while keeping the functioning drawbar. I think the process would be similar.
My fear was that I couldn't easily get the bends exactly right and therefore there would be stress on the finals. (broken finals are all too common). I chose to make it in 3 pieces and weld them together instead of bending. I'm glad I did it that way for two reasons: It was easier, and it came out exactly the right length. Getting back to back bends to come out as planned is partly witchcraft.

What George says makes good sense.
My thought was that with this use a long enough piece that you makw all the bends except the last mounting bend. For your purpose it wouldn't matter if one side of the flat leading to the mount is 1/4 in shorter or longer than the other. While bending the first side make some space lines and see how much you gain on the bend. probably a little over the thickness of your stock. Allow for that amount on the last bend. If that fails to make a good fit cut it off and weld.
Drill the holes last. Just center the middle hole and space the others where you scale out from the pictures.
