Oil Pressure gauge.... paint the body??

I have had the oil pressure gauge out for a while, so I finally got to cleaning it up.
Now the test question is .... I suppose the ring around the glass (bezel?) is stainless and should not be painted. What about the body of the gauge??

It cleaned up pretty shiny and would look decent unpainted as long as it did not rust.

I am sure someone has the answer!

Originally, I think the glass was masked off and everything else was painted red.

None of mine are red. :wink:
