I picked up my 1949 Cub with swinging drawbar and rear weights in the spring of 2002 for $3100. This cub was taken to the local IH dealer in 1960 by the second owner and rebuilt/repainted. Later I purchased the following attachments for it:

174 Planter for 500
Woods 42C for 325
C-3 Field culitvator 500
Front Wheel Weights for 150

I then picked up my 1958 Cub LoBoy for 3800 in Fall of 2004. It came with rear weights, chains, F38 disk, F194 Plow, L59 Mower, and a spike tooth harrow, and a ten foot paint job.

Bought my 1949 at a public estate auction 1n 2002 for $930.00 with all 4 weights,a home made front blade, sickle bar mower and flat belt pully, engine free, not running, the po said "it ran ok 2 years ago" all it needed was fresh gas,and fired right up, no smoke, runs fine. it had the usual leaks, noises in trans, needed some sheet metal work, tires, a new radiator and paint.

1948 Cub given to me. Included 54A blade, Rear weights, belly disk plow, cultivators and Danco C2 mower. I bought second set of cultivators with rod and rear rock shaft for $75. Bought a pull behind disk plow for a new battery. Built a dirt scoop for it. Parts with out any labor was $350 for scoop. Front weights $100. I knew the last 2 owner's and one used it commercially. Hired hands turned it over 2 times. It was the most wore out Cub I ever saw but was running. Blocked cracked etc. etc. I must have spent $5000 on it if its possible. What ever is the most you can spend on one is what I spent. But now its Super nice!!

That is the most difficult question I have seen on this board. Lets see, I traded a rusted up 31 Model A Ford body for my first 195? Cub in 1972 with 2 pickup trucks load of implements. From then until I retired in 1998, 50+ Cubs passed through my hands. Some ran and some didn't. I really didn't know what made them tick back then, but when I retired in 98, I found this board and started learning more about them. (Thanks guys) Since then, there has been 30+ Cubs here. I appreciate them more now also. So, I have had one running Cub given to me, one in a million pieces given to me, traded a dilapidated riding lawn mower for one, and bought some. The most I ever paid for one was a 1951 in 1999 for $1000.00 with a Woods belly mower from the original owner. Other than that, $600.00 was the most I have paid for a single naked Cub. And it wasn't running.

I bought 6 raffle tickets somewhere in 1999, can't even remember where I bought them. Well I won a 1949 Cub!!! It was about 80% restored with a new paint job and allnew tires. Well that winter I had it torn down from front to rear and replaced all the seal and most all the bearings, remanufactured the gov, everything was done but the clutch and motor and they seem to be fine.
I have since picked up a one bottom plow $50. a sickle bar mower 4-1/2 ft $25. woods mower $200. two ft blades $300. a belly disk plow $150. But keep in mind most of the impliments I had to restore so ther is a cost in all that , but not to bad. However the restore on the Cub, well lets just say a true Cub lover can understand, it was money well spent. It is like my buddy at the IH shop here said they don't make-em anymore and he has only seen them appreaciate. And besides I love her! :{_}:

A year ago last August I bought my '55 Loboy from the second owner. It is completely original and has always been stored indoors. No rust anywhere, original paint and decals, original battery box, seat has original canvas upholstery. It came with a grader blade, land plow, cultivators, and carryall. All it needed was new rear rims. $1500. I've since spent at least that much on a new Woods CLF59 and new turf tires w/rims.

I bought my 1957 Cub (looks awful, runs great) with a C-2 Mower and Disk (not IH, but Cub size) for $750.
A kick in the pants is still a step forward.

I bought a 63 lowboy with a l22 mowerabout 10 years ago. I paid $1800 for it. It had new rear tires, old auto type tires inthe front, a new paint job, ( the wrong yellow), and it ran well. As I used it I discovered it had no power. Eventually I got wise to the fact that it had wrong spark plugs. The tapered ones did not seal and caused a lot of lost compression. Replaced them with the ones with copper washers and all was well. Since then someone has given me a mott flail mower that I should have ready this spring.

I sold a 1953 Cub with hyrdaulics and a plow, lift disk harrows, and mott flail mower for $2250...to pay for a 1958 Cub with Fast-Hitch with a plow, disk harrows, flail mower (all Fast-Hitch) and a leveling/grader blade which I bought for $2250 just this summer. So, basically I upgraded to Fast-Hitch and got a blade for free in the deal.

My first was a '49. Paid $600, non-running but tin was all there and straight. I sank 1K in it. Looked great and ran great, until I torn-up the drive train. It sat. About this time I spotted a '74 in a scrap heap at a local farm salvage yard. It had junk piled on it that bent the hood. Wouldn't start, and foreman said motor was shot. Chasis and drive train seemed good, so I gambled at $900. Got it home, cleaned and straightend out hood, put fresh gas in it, and it started! Leaked gas bad around carb halves, so, I took it apart, filed the halves, put a new kit in, and it's been running great ever since. A real work horse around the place. It came with an IH belly mower that I gave away.
Last year I found a '50 model, great running cub with a good woods belly mower. Paid 1K. Tin was straight, but paint was bad, missing light's and fender, plus had been converted to 12v. Decided to make a project out of it. Going back original. So far, I'm about 60% done. Almost through converting it back to 6v. Got all tin and lights for it.
The '49 has become the sacrifical lamb. I'll keep the motor because it was bored out .060 and ran great. The rest I've parted out. Sold some, gave some away.
As far as implements, the woods mower that came with my last purchase was worth about 300.
I visited Dan England, and came away with a moldboard plow, belly mount grader blade, Poplarville disk harrow, cultivator attachments, rear rockshaft, all for a little over $200.

1953 Cub $2000 with the following: cub 193 plow, cub #3 field cultivator, mott flail mower, l-54 grader blade, wheel weights. The engine did run but compression was low & oil pressure was lower. Did a complete ground up rebuild on the entire tractor.
