ENGINE BREATHER QUESTION

Postby jmont54 » Wed Dec 08, 2004 4:08 pm

HELLO, ITS ME AGAIN!
I love this forum. I have seen mention of an engine Breather fitting and tube (This was mentioned in the thread dealing with leaking front seal.) I have a Y&W cub and cannot find anything on the motor except the Carb Air Intake and the Oil Dip Stick Filter. Am I missing somelthing, or is the Breather setup on older model Cubs than mine?

Thanks.

I don't think the later model y&w cubs had the line going from the front of the engine to the air cleaner. On the left side (carb side) of the block, there should be a fitting with a steel line going to the stack on the air cleaner.

My 62 LoBoy does not. But the breather may have been removed and the block plugged by the PO.

The serial on my 65 is 226794
The burn cub was 229xxx
the broke cub was 238525
And they all have the line from the block to the air breather .
You should check and see if the fitting is in the block and the breather and if so i would put it on yuor engine will like it
