Danuser Post Hole Digger -----

Postby countershaft » Mon Nov 08, 2004 10:20 pm

Is the Danuser rear- mounted post hole digger only made using the 3 point suspension system ? I have a chance to buy one , only I don't have the 3 point hook-up. Is the Cub PTO strong enough to handle it ?

Countershaft, you can get a 3 pt hitch for your cub. That would solve a bunch of problems. But, they are expensive. The other real problem is that the cub PTO turns counterclock wise. Even if you were able to get the 3 pt hitch, the auger on the post hole digger would be turning the wrong way. Not to mention the speed the PTO is turning. I believe I remember that the Cub PTO turns at engine speed - that is ~1800 rpm. You would need something closer to 540 rpm. Something to think about.

Gents: Please chime in here and help out. I think I'm right, but you guys know the Cub much better than I.

Sunday, you hit the nail on the head. Danuser did make a post hole digger for a cub, but they are apparently pretty rare, I 've never seen anything but a picture in the Allied Equipment catalog.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Rick, you are correct. Unless you buy pto implements made specifically for the cub you are wasting your time. By the time you add a 3 point hitch and a pto reducer / reverser (if you can find one) you will have way more money invested than it would ever be worth. There were post hole diggers made for the cub. Locating one for sale will be the problem.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
