My copy of Red Power got here today. Since I alwys seem to be the last to get it, the rest of you must already have your copies.

I had a little article on Cub-Arama in this issue. Several of you were mentioned by name. I hope I got all the names right. My apologies for any I messed up.

Last year, the NOV/DEC issue featured the Farmall Cub. Did Dennis repeat himself this year

Last year Dennis and Sallie decided to try doing 2 "special feature" issues a year. The plan is to have a group of articles on a related topic, but not use the topic for the entire magazine. The Cub was a pretty easy choice for the first special issue, which resulted in the Nov-Dec issue last year. May-June this year was the second special feature issue, featuring Fast-Hitch. I was able to tie Cubs into that theme with my article on the one-point implements. The theme continues in the new issue featuring wheatland and standard tread tractors. Can't do much with Cubs in a standard tread theme.

My theme related article is a departure from my usual articles as I did an article on a friend's standard collection. I did sprinkle in a little more factual data on the tractors themselves than you often see that type article. My Cub-Arama article was just a little writeup I did to give the show a some exposure.

The next 'themed issue" of Red Power is supposed to cover aftermarket (M&W, Behlen, ect) tractor items.

I got mine in yesterday's mail....nice article on The Cub-Arama, Jim.

There is a write-up in the issue on the collection of Mick and Carol Osterman by Hank Will. Mick and Carol attended The Cub-Arama and brought several cubs....one of which was the only "renewed" white demonstrator there. They purchased a lo-boy from J.P.'s while there.....quite a challenge getting all those cubs on the trailer for the trip home.

I'll get around to reading the rest of the magazine over the next few days.

Hank gets around doesn't he? I hadn't attended Cub-Arama with the intention of writing an article about it. So the article was just done as a short overview. There was a lot that couldn't be covered in a small space.

Now I am puzzling over what to do for the next theme issue. Hub City PTO adapters and Howard speed reducers -- what other aftermarket add ins were there for Cubs and A's? Not a lot to work with there.

How about those neat flip open hoods to access the generator? What about all those nifty aftermarket beverage holder everyone is always talking about?
Maybe you can finally reveal to us what aftermarket product mounts into those two holes in the platform?

Hank Will has been sticking close to home lately.
I was out in Gettysburg a couple of weeks ago to share in the big day for the Will Family.
Hank's beautiful and wonderful wife, Kate, was inaugurated as the new president of Gettysburg College. Quite an event, I felt pretty honored to have been invited. We went and hung out by his Cub in our Tuxedos.
I can't remember if we took any pictures or not.

The trick to getting your Redpower early is to subscribe to it with 1st class mail.
