I'm not sure of the part number, but make sure that the case isn't overfilled.
I did this once and it leaked, once I drained it where it should be it didn't leak.

I dont have the NAPA # but here are some numbers I have for the steering wheel shaft

Steering wheel shaft seal
IH part# 385703rR92
or CR# CR8677, CR54594

Worm wheel shaft seal
IH part# 370510R91
or CR# CR11066, or National# 50151-S

Dont know if this will help but maybe NAPA can cross ref. these numbers

Good luck!!!

My folks are originally from Dinwiddie, Va. I still have some living there. Nice place from what I remember. It's been sometime since I visited. I can still remember an old church and post office.

i modified my shaft seal housing like this to prevent pistoning of gear lube out the seal as the steering was worked back and forth.

The original filler plugs have a vent hole in them to keep pressure from building up in the case. It's a very small hole drilled in form one of the flat sides. Most of them are painted over.

I swapped the seals and gaskets in my entire steering gear housing. Thanks for the tip John, I will have to look for that small vent hole you are talking about.

Sometimes it easier to find if you look at the plug from the inside. There is a larger blind hole drilled straight up, and a smaller one that intersects it from the side.

If you plug is not the original and "does not havea hole", then you can
drill one straight thru and put a cotter pin in it.
