I went today to Nashville, AR to the rusty relics tractor club show and play day. This is how I transported my little cub! BrannonImage

Looks like that dually is handling the load well, now if you just had a tailgate.

I had about 4 inches of clearance at the rear. On the way home, I called a friend who works for a car crusher, and he said he'd have me a tailgate for sure by the end of the week, and with any luck, it may even be the right color. The load rode very well, but if I plan on transporting this way in the future, I think I may build something that resembles a cattle gap to lay on the tailgate before I load up. Brannon

I could have saved myself dragging a 20' trailer 1000 miles to retrieve my cub had I known it would fit in the bed of my F250!

I have hauled them both ways, and I would have still pulled the trailer. If it has fluid and wheel weights the cub alone can be close to 2000 pounds, and it's a top heavy load. I like just as low slung a tralier as I can get.

John they rate pickups differently \than they used to. My 2001 Dodge 1500 stock is rated for 2485 net load. They want to get the gross over 6000 to get around Govt restrictions. In 79 when I had a C10 it would take a C30 for the same net load. Times change. People make rules and other people make ways to beat them. Just the same old make something fool proof and along come better fools.

My truck is a HD F250, 8800 gvw, that I also put a 2000# camper on. Rancho 9000X adjustable shocks help too.
The trailer weighs 1400# and I had to rewire it for the trip.
I really just wanted to whine about driving that dreaded Northeast mess, CT, NY, NJ, PA, etc with 40' of vehicle and trailer.

I didn't think the belly mower would fit and it is pretty high in the air.
With a trailer, I just backed it off with a pair of car ramps.
One day I will figure out how to post pictures.....
