I did a rear split on Stubby to replace the 2nd and 3rd sliding gear. I recoupled it and believed I had the splines lined up. Bolted it all back up and
put it her in gear. She was stuck in every gear. When i rocked it forward or backward nothing? So I re-split it thinkin the splines weren't lined up (but, they had to be otherwise it wouldn't bolt up right?) and bolted together a second time. Same trouble, so know I wonder what did I do???

Sounds like you are stuck in two gears at the same time. Pop the top cover off the tranny and using a screwdriver, slide the shifter forks back into the neutral postion. Then look to see if you have a bent or broken shifter fork.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Completely flushed everything out! I have to go see if I put the reverse slider in backwards!! I hope not, but I'll let you know!
Nope all the gears are just as they should be!??
Could doubling up the PTO Cover gasket cause this?
If my 2 yr old son pushed in the clutch pedal while the shaft was out, could this mess something up?

If the clutch was pushed in with the tractor split the clutch plate would drop. If that was the case the spline shaft wouldn't index correctly and I don't think you could re-couple the tractor without forcing it.
Try pushing the clutch in and turning the PTO shaft (engaged PTO) with the shifter plate off. Maybe this way you can see what's holding things up. If no gears are engaged and you still can't turn the shaft there may be something up with the clutch.

Farmall, if you block the clutch down can you turn the engine either with the starter or crank? If you can, check that the gear sliders engaged the shifter knob (may be in 2 gears at once). If you can't turn it your starter drive may have locked into the ring gear when you tried to start it.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Well, I figured it out. Of course, my father had to come over and point it out
to me! The spline shaft had slid forward about a half inch. So I split it a third time and sure as shoot, I had put the oil seal/retainer in backwards. This allowed the shaft to move forward. Turned it around, put her all back together, and TaDa!!!
Thanks for all the input.
