voltage regulator

Postby Ron » Mon Oct 04, 2004 3:24 pm

Any Ideas on replacement voltage regulators??

I found that when I ground the field on my gen, it will show a charge on the amp meter.
So, I assume that the regulator is bad.
I have check to be sure that the regulator in grounded.

I went to NAPA to get a replacement and they would have to order it,
the bad part is they want $56.41 for it.

Is this a little on the high side??

Also, my work light is a #4511 sealed beam, they want $37.00 for it.

Wow, I know I will be able to beat the price on the light bulb.

Any thoughts on the price of the regulator would be appreciated!!

Take the top off the regulator and touch up the contact points a little before you get that expensive. Might try http://www.cngco.com or http://www.casetractorparts.com
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Thanks John for the reply.

I did try to dress the points a little, then tried it again.

No help!!

I did see a regulator in my Valu-built catalog that I forgot I had.
Their price is $30.89, a good bit better than NAPA.
