Donny,
I hear you on the rough ride on the original Firestones! I put new ones on the tricycle for that reason. Now I've added the second set of new ones.
Here's another concept I saw today... matching front and rear! You may notice something else unusual...
Every picture I took today was of this tractor.

A V6 powered Cub...I thought about that before Shoot for all the money on a complete engine job, a V6 retro fit wouldn't be that much more. I'd like to see more pictures if you don't mind
Donny,
The engine is from a Plymouth Voyager mini-van. The carburetor and air cleaner are Harley. The owner/builder is fairly new to Cubs... only a year or so, but already has 4 or 5. One current project is making a 3 pt and speed reducer to run a tiller. He is the owner of the Cub with a backhoe and loader that has been reported at shows in northwestern Ohio and southeastern Michigan.
As an aside... the V-6 Cub was an original demonstrator. He has kept all the parts to return it to original.

It looks like a starter built on to the pto shaft???
The hand crank is just for show. In fact, it doesn't even line up with the crankshaft, nor are there any crank lugs on the pulley.
There was no other practical place to mount the starter, so it is on the PTO shaft. This is the same problem my friend Gary is dealing with for his Kubota 4 cylinder diesel conversion. For that little Kubota, I would think a starter/generator would work, but the Chrysler may crank too hard for a belt.

I'm not sure I understand the question. The starter appears to have a Bendix drive, and naturally, the PTO shifter has to be engaged.

Hi Donny,
She sure is looking G-R-E-A-T
I was sooo looking forward to meeting you at Cubarama. Oh, well,
as they say in baseball, "then there is next year".
LO, I have spent several nights in your town over the years since
1967. Weatherford is halfway for us when we were going to and
from Colorado. You sure had a good steak house there for a while
several years ago, can't think of the name of it but can drive to it
with a blindfold on.

Was it the T-bone?? They are still here.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

George...
That is one serious looking cub! I'd swear it had a good dose of steroids or at least something of tremendous nutritional value. I noticed the steering column changes too. The guy really has a knack for mechanical design and innovation. Thanks for the photos. Keep 'em coming!
