HR,
I know what you are saying I sent off my from the almost same time as you did (sat. of memorial day weekend) and just got mine this past wed. I almost bought one a new one from Case/IH, but they insisted that not to buy one and get the free one, just allow several weeks to months.
Looks like this one will work, just wish they looked somewhat better, but who can complain, they were free unless you consider the cost of the stamp to send for it, LOL! I already had one like it, that was on the Cub when I brought it home, but shortly after I sent in the form I got a letter from Case/IH stating that they did not have my Cub's serial listed in their records for the recall cap program. The old one was dented, rusted and looked downright ugly on a freshly restored tracor. Even at that I still couldn't bring myself into throwing the old one away, put it in the box the new one came in.
YOU JUST NEVER KNOW. when an old, ugly, rusted and dented one might happen to come in handy.
Plus they are suppose to be safer, from what I hear, it makes good sense.

Hi ALL,
Well here goes again for another one. Cub Bud came over last Wednesday
and in conversation he asked if I had gotten my new gas caps in yet. I
replied, "no, I have forgotten about them". Then Thursday around 7:00pm
Big Brown rolls in and the driver hands me six shiny new "BLACK" ones for my "RED" & "YELLOW" CUBS. I am thankful mind you,
they will be RED and YELLOW v-e-r-y soon. The first ones I ordered came
in within about 3 weeks.

Navistar hangs onto the forms received until they get a certain amount. Then they ship em all at the same time which explains the multiple grins
That is unless you live outside ConUS... say Alaska, Hawaii, or anyplace else in the world that houses Cubs. Those can take 6 months
Howsomeever though, the grin is just as big

Do you suppose that every time they get a form requesting a new cap/s that they check the serial numbers provided to see if those numbers have already received replacement caps?. If not the same serial number could be receiving double or more which would throw off any true existing number of Cubs still in service.
Then came Bronson
Probably not that useful a list.
Agreed. Plus not all cub owner bother to replace the gas caps.
So, wonder if there's a way to approximate, based on the volume of replacement parts sold through IH/Case. Something made them start printing the "Farmall" decal and putting them on new tractors. Some "numbers", somewhere, must have shown renewed interest.

I would certainly think so. Ifn it was me in charge of the program, ya betcha fer shornuff! It certainly would eliminate double dipping
