gas tank treatment products

Postby artc » Sun Jul 25, 2004 9:19 am

I know there's been threads on this, and POR15 comes to mind, but there were a couple of other gas tank sealer products guys have had success with that might be locally available to me.

I have a pony motor tank for a Cat Grader that needs treatment bad. and my Dad has the gas tank out of the Gerlinger fork lift, same problem.

any other products we can use? :?:
thanks, Art

There is one called KREEM. You can get it at a motorcycle shop.

I have used Line-A-Tank sold by NAPA. It looks like it is made by Federal Metals, Inc. 1-800-880-4461. I have had it in 2 tractors for about 1 1/2 years and no more rust problems.Good luck on your project.

I just recently had my tank done with a product called (Red-Kote) but I think the only place to get it is at radiator shops that repair gas-tanks. The shop that did my tank offered to sell me some for personal use but I had him do the tank instead.
Then came Bronson

POR-15 is the one that I have used with great success. You can contact at
http://www.POR-15.com. They also have high-temp paint for the manifold and
also other types of paint to use on rusty metals.

Hope this helps.
