If the tractor is in good condition and the cultivators are complete, that is a fair price.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Read this page before you go look at the tractor. Pay particular attention to question 10.

Thanks for the info Jim I will read this tonight and have a lot more questions to ask the owner before I take the trip. I am sure glad I found this site before purching a Farmall Cub. I now own a IH 154 LO-BOY and found out the hard way what to look for, in the last four years or so I have practically rebuilt the entire tractor. Thanks again Jim, Ill let everyone know how I make out.

Well had my first lesson in what not to believe when trusting the word of someone trying to sell you a pig in a poke. I and my wife took the three hour trip, pulling a trailer, to look at the 1973 cub only to find a very poorly maintained tractor that had been started before I arrived, leading me to believe that it had not been running in quite some time. On the phone I was told that it just needed some sanding and a little paint. So imagine my diappointment when the dealer started the tractor and it smoked like a wood stove and leaked antifreeze from the Radiator. So for $2,300 I could have dealt with it if it only needed a little paint, and thats only a few things I am mentioning that were wrong with this Tractor. So needless to say I left and came home with an empty trailer. Im not giving up because I really want to own a Cub, so I will keep looking.

Check the cub for sale at this link. It's a longer drive but I've seen this tractor and it's well worth the money.
