Windy Update-1950 Reburbish

Postby rleggitt » Mon Jul 12, 2004 10:34 pm

Hi ALL,

Just picked up the sheet metal that goes on "WINDY" my first refurbish
attempt today.

I think it looks R-E-D and lots of it.

Windy is one of the 1950's that I am currently working on and hope to
get to bring to CUBARAMA IN Mo. in Sept.

I am still working on de-rusting the castings and wheels. The transmission, final drives, engine, radiator base, and wheel hubs all have been rebuild from the ground up or replaced entirely. In fact I told the
parts man at IH [still refuse use Cxxx] if it rolls, slides, or seals we will
replace it. Just like someone on here has said, "the 3 most expensive
words are, may as well".

Windy will also be decked out with four new tires.

"Windy is one of the 1950's that I am currently working on and hope to get to bring to CUBARAMA IN Mo. in Sept"

Russ, the above statement should read:

"Windy is one of the 1950's that I am currently working on and will be bringing to the CUBARAMA in Mo. in Sept."

Mike,

Dennis put that Avatar up I believe because I have 501 posts. I hope he keeps it there for awhile...I like the way it looks.

The move went fairly smooth but there were some hariy moments. When I get some time I will  embarass  myself with the details.
