1957 Cub Tune-Up Parts?

Postby brushwolf » Thu Jun 24, 2004 11:14 am

Hi,

Looking for suggestions on where to get parts for Cub Loboy 1957 Model. I want to put new plug wires, spark plugs, cap, rotor and change oil filter on Cub that has been sitting for several years. What oil should be used being it has kind of low oil pressure and will be used to mow (summer only). Is there one site that I can get all the tune-up parts and oil filter for it?

Thanks, Mike H

I got all those parts at the local Tractor Supply company, if you have one nearby. That way I didn't have to wait, or pay shipping.

I would suggest that you first look for a local Case/IH dealer. They should have everything you need. Failing that, check out http://www.cngco.com .

Mike:

Welcome to the Forum and to the Cub Family :D

First would suggest you read this thread : Announcement: New Members and Visitors, Please READ, then click the link below and have a look at the Cub Owners Manual. It tells you where to lube, what fluids to use etc. Very helpful.

Also, if you do not already have the Cub Owners Manual, the TC-37F Parts Manual and the GSS-1411 Service Manual, you should order them at Binder Books. You will find them to be the best investment you make for your Cub.

Until then, please feel free to consult the Manual Server at the link below as they are all there.

Again, welcome to the Forum and the Family

Got them from Case IH

Mike, I also have a 57' Lo-Boy. I just tuned her up about 4 weeks ago.
I got the parts from Case I.H
Plugs, Wires, Rotor, Cap, Points, Condencer. All in stock. Only the Wires were a generic form that had to be cut to length....

Hey Mike, If you don't have a IH dealer handy, most.....if not all of what you want can be had at NAPA or other auto stores if you don't mind having to wait a day or two for them to order the parts. Our local NAPA carries about everything for cubs......little pricey though. I just did all your wanting to do on my '57 Lo-Boy and got everything at O'Reiliy's. Points, condenser, regulator, copper core wires, and a B-133 belt for $71 and change. 1 day wait, but the price was right.
