:D
We are getting ready to paint our 1949 Farmall Cub that we restored and in looking at pics online I see numerus different paint schemes on peoples tractors. This is a F cub and the serial indicates it is a 1949. It has the wire mesh grill in front which I see red on some and white on others. Also the side posts and shroud are silver in color on this one but I see some are red. The only thing I am real sure of is the front rims are all red and the rear are silver with the centers red.
Can anyone tell me what the true colors on these 49's is.
Thanks for your help.

The tractor is painted IH 2150 red. Rear wheel rims are galvanized/cad plated or painted aluminum (your choice).

Buy a copy of the Farmall Cub-Cub Cadet book (listed on the Farmall cub Hompage) to see original painted Cubs the way IH MADE them, not how someone "restored" them.

So you say the whole tractor is red other than the silver on the wheels?
When we got this tractor the mesh grill was white and the shroud and radiator brackets were silver, that apparently was someones own "style".

I have seen IH's painted all colors of the rainbow and that is fine....but please do not say its "original" or "restored" if the paint is not the proper factory used scheme.

Paint YOUR tractor, any way YOU want.

My apologies for using the word restored in my first post, I mean "fixing up" :D
That is what I am wanting is the original paint scheme for the "49" Cub

 I am in the process of painting my 48 soon and I just painted the starter & generator (Black) by choice. I will also paint the radiator black. I haven`t decided on the manifold as of yet.
