Sickle Bar info

Postby Beestingz » Tue Jun 01, 2004 6:18 pm

I just noticed that of my 3 cutter bars the flat stock differs thickness. One is 3/16 and the orther is 1/4 inch. Whats the norm or does it make that much difference? I bought 3/16 stock and was ready to make another when this came to my attention. Someone in a earlier posting mentioned to me that the knife head that i had shown has rivet holes that are now bigger than they should be. Is that something that is an easy fix by brazing or such or just purchase a new one?
