How Come.......
Wondering why my 49 runs rough under load when cold, but once it warms up it runs great. Granted with all the rain the grass was heavy, but once she warmed up it was ticketty-boo.

Nother ????
I've heard if the hydraulis leak, it leaks into the engine, so the hydraulics should be using 30 wieght oil, same as the engine??

Sometimes rough running can come from gaps or leaks on the intake manifold. Those seem to "cure" themselves when everything warms up and swells a little sealing the leaks. Perhaps even valve clearances change or even a little sticking of the valves could occur as the engine warms.

Early cub hydraulic systems used 10 wt. non-detergent oil. 30 wt. would be too heavy especially in cooler weather. Later recommendation was to use hy-tran fluid.
If you see the problem occuring, overhaul the pump to correct the situation. Change the engine oil and you shouldn't have to worry.
