Alternate drawbar dimensions

Postby mymariah » Thu May 27, 2004 7:43 am

I've been searching thru past posts and can't seem to find the dimensions to make the alternate drawbar. I'll just go buy the steel and weld my own, but want to get right lengths. Also, what thickness do you use?
How about hole patterns? What we do is put a few layers of duct tape on the piece, and hammer it against the holes in the casting. The holes then make an indent on the duct tape. But if someone has an easier way or a pattern, let me know.

I got to use my blade yesterday - messing around in the driveway. You may remember its a belly mount, and even I was impressed with how the driveway turned out. The neighbors thought I would end up with washboards, but it is perfectly smooth!

mymariah:

K, the dimensions are on the Cub Manual Server. And can be found under the link Parts and Implement Sketches and then under Cub 54A Blade.

Here is the link:

Alternate or Substitute Drawbar.

There is lots of stuff on the server, if it is raining as it is here and you have some spare time, have a read - peruse the whole server. All of our Cub friends have been graciously sending me material for over the last year to post for all to use :D

Thanks!!! that made it simple. I just went and bought the steel to make it - cost me $14 Now I can use my regular drawbar/step again. Made it kinda difficult getting on tractor w/o drawbar.
