Get me a barrel of Dial Tone while you're at the store will ya? After the last storm our phone office is a little low on it.

Do you have a way of wupporting one or both wheels and running it with the transmision in gear and the cover off so you can hear better. if you do this, be very careful.

Well it's definitely something with the idler gear. Just pushing the tractor out of the shop so the termite inspector (pain in the #$$) can inspect. Had the shift lever off and man does that gear rattle. No play on the shaft (up and down) so the bushing is good. So I'm going to try and put some shim stock between the end of the gear and the casting. I'm also going to drill the shaft on the other end and swap it end for end or make a new shaft entirely.

If anyone has their shift lever off it would be helpful if you could measure the idler gear end play. TIA
