Installing a one wire alternator on oneof my cubs, my question is will the generator bracket work or do I have to get a different bracket?

The Hitachi alternator will work with the generator bracket. Don't know if others will or not. George Willer has some pictures of his alternator mounting brackets that allow for vertical belt tensioning that looks really good.

Charles,

The vertical adjustment was necessary for the big Delco alternator, since there is only 1/4" or so extra space to mount it under the hood. I have a couple pictures on line...

The Hitachi doesn't require as much space, so it can be mounted using the original bracket and several spacers. I recently mounted one on Scruffy and it worked out well. The 3 spacers are made of 1/4" pipe and front to rear are... 1/4", 2 9/16", and 2 1/8" long. I haven't taken a picture.
