I REMEMBER SEEING A YELLOW CUB AT LAST YEARS CUBARAMA WITH DUAL REAR WHEELS AND A CULTIVATOR. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE OWNER I WOULD LIKE THE YELLOW PAINT CODE HE USED IN THE RESTORATION. I DON'T THINK IT WAS THE ORIGINAL SHADE OF YELLOW
AND MADE FOR A NICE PAINT COMBINATION. OR DOES ANYONE KNOW A PARTICULAR PAINT MFG. THAT MAKES A SHARP LOOKING YELLOW PAINT SUITABLE FOR A CUB.
THANKS

Larry, I'm sure this is the one you're talking about, but I don't remember who the owner was.

This may be a dumb question but, how do people get duels on a cub? And do they really help in putting power to ground? Or is it more for show?

Thanks
Guy

duals will increase your traction in soft ground, and provide better stability on hillsides, but looking at that cub and harrow, I suspect they were mainly for show in that instance.

I also have Dual Ag's for my 62 Loboy. I believe they were on the Loboy mainly for stability while mowing the Hillside at the Resevoir in Morris Ct. I took off my Mott D9 Flail mower so I could plow snow in the winter and in trying to put it back on the Loboy I had many problems. When I removed the flail mower I also removed one set of the Dual Ag's and was left with the rear Ag's in the narrow configuration. After many tries I just couldn't get the flail back on as it was hitting the right rear Ag while set in the narrow configuration. I ended up setting up the right rear Ag to the Wide configuration which solved all my problems. I guess if you stare at something long enough that isn't working you'll eventually figure it out. I pushed the Cub onto a 2in x 8in plank on the inner tire of each side and then freely removed the outer Ag from each side.

But how are the duels attached? Is it just longer bolts that go through the hub and both sets of wheels?

Can any cub be set up with duels?

There is a spacer that goes between the wheels. They show up on Ebay occasionally.
Yes, any cub can be set up with them. However, remember that they will make your cub wider than your mower, snowblade, disk, etc. also the wheels will be to wide to fit in a plow furrow, or to go in a 5 foot wide trailer.

GB,
I CHECKED OUT THE CUB PICTURED AT LAST YEAR'S CUB-A-RAMA.
THERE IS A WHEEL/ADAPTER/EXTENTSION FOR DUAL YEAR WHEELS FROM IH. THE OWNER HAD AN ORGINIAL SET. MY GUESS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND. THE ADAPTER BOLTED TO THE INNER WHEEL HUB CENTER AND ATTACHED TO THE OUTER WHEEL CENTER. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY THERE WAS A RED CUB , LAST YEAR, WITH THE SAME SET-UP. PRETTY UNIQUE LOOK, HUH!

The red one belonged to John Hargus (JP Tractor Salvage). I think it's on their web site under JP's treasures.

Tom has pictures that show how the dual wheel setup is done on the TM Tractors site.

I have a set of spacers on my '55 lo-boy that serve as extesions. I have the rear wheels set in the narrow configuration and the front wheels out even with the rear wheels.

You can buy the correct yellow from your IH dealer.
