12 volt generator

i picked up a 12 volt generator over the weekend thinking it was a late cub or 154 generator. it's yellow, has a larger pulley, a condensor hanging on the outside, and has open castings on the ends. not a starter generator for a cub cadet. my dad checked it out today, it works.
did the 154,184,185' s all use 12 volt generators or were they alternators?

i'm assuming the open ends are for better cooling for higher output ratings, but did the cubs use this style? :?:

154s used a starter-generator. Has it still got the Delco tag with the part number?

Tag says 1102191 3L7 but the 7 is difficult to read. 12V.

Capaciter for radio suppression, probably. Dad reminded me of the AM radio/generator noise problems from the 60's.

Sometimes I get lucky on a generator number, sometimes not. I found this one listed as an optional 30 amp generator for the 151, 181 Thresher, 414, 420 SP Cotton Picker with BD-220, BD-264 engines.
