no power - touch control

Postby alan » Mon Apr 26, 2004 7:13 am

with some more tune -up work and governor adjustments, i've got my cub with enough power now to mow the lawn....one thing i've noticed though, some times when i use the touch control to lower the mower, it wants to keep on running and robs power from the engine/mower. i've got to jiggle the control lever back up a little to get it to stop. since i've got a bad fluid leak at the boot on the main shaft (i've been told there's an o-ring in there) i bought a repair kit and i'll be getting into the unit...my questions are 1. how complicated is this system and 2. besides the leak, is there something else in there that may be causing my power problem that i should be on the look-out for when i'm in there?? thanks alan

There is a stop clip on touch contorl unit that limits the travel of the control lever spool valve that probably needs adjustment. Go to Rudi's manual server, to the blueribbon manuals, and download the GSS-1024 touch control manual.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
