AHHHHHHH!!!! THE SMELL OF FRESH EARTH

Postby rleggitt » Sun Mar 28, 2004 7:07 pm

Hi All,

It is getting that time of year again to start turning earth and cutting
grass. In other words- F-U-N T-I-M-E with the CUB(s). It was a very
warm and sunny day here in north central Miss. yesterday so I took the 60 something with the single point hitch out and plowed/ploughed about 1 1/2 acres with the turning plow/moldboard plough.

There is nothing like the smell of freshly turned earth. It is better for an
old codger like me that a good mess/serving of freshly cooked pokesalad to get the juices flowing.

Y'all have fun on them CUB(s) now you here. But please be safe.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

It's so muddy here, that you'd have to have a winch to pull you through our Mo. red clay.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Hi Donny,

Sorry I missed meeting you while you were here. Maybe the next trip.

Well donny, down here we have a saying goes something likt this: If I
hada known you were coming I would have baked a cake. In this case I
would have invited you out to let you plow a round or two.

Hi John,

Just talked with CUB BUD and he brought me up to date on your CUB.
He is talking Red Metalic with some type of stripes. Don't know what
that is all about. He also, told me about the trailer that came to Miss and
liked it so well it is staying?????? You may want to send your CUB a
picture of home!!!!!   Just in case!!!!

The weather forecaster says that we may be getting more rain tonight
or Monday. I have three types of soil [dry, damp and wet] so I can usually plow one of the gardens.

Hey Russ,

I was staying in Batesville so the Bell South Bldg. was east of where I turned at Clear Creek Road. (Just west of Cheepo Deepo)
I did attempt to come by but the only bldg. next to the Bell South bldg. was a Ford Dealership (to the east) and a small steel bldg to the west. Give me more of a clue next time.
Maybe I should just sniff for freshly turned soil, but I may end up in Ohio.

Wonder if this would be good enough to make it want to come home?

Hey John,

I passed by Missy yesterday afternoon and she was clicking the heels of her 2150 red slippers together chanting "There's no place like home....there's no place like home...there's no place like home."
"Never forget where it is you come from, or you may find yourself someplace you don't want to be"

Russ,

If I'm correct there was a small red car with more wheel than tire in the parking lot when I went by. There were no signs or any marking on the bldg. so I didn't stop.
If there had been a Cub in the parking lot I would have stopped
