Valve Question

I hate to expose my self as the moron that I am but... What would cause a valve to stick? would it be sludge in the bottom side or carbon up top?

Welcome to the MORON club................ Not really - No question is moronic here!

It could be carbon, it could be rust, it could be bent ..... etc ! (Long period of not being used is usually rust).

I think Ron pretty well covered it. If it's been setting very long, could be some rust or carbon either one. Never saw one sludged up enough to cause valve sticking.
