Another way of keeping the bracket in place without any alterations is to use a short (3-4'') hunk of 2'' angle iron bolted to the upper hole,positioned snugly against the top of the bracket. One of my Cubs came this way and it works great. Many times the bushings in the drive tube are worn causing the whole unit to shake which in turn loosens the bolts. Once the shaft wears into the tube there's no easy fix,as the tubes are no longer available. Mike

To your issue of decals...our own Ralph Napier (Ralph's Cubs) has the correct cub model 22 mower decals that get mounted on the belt guard and the mower. Some of the very early mowers had "McCormick-Deering" name decals mounted on BOTH sides of the drive shaft (as shown in the Cub Photo Archive book.
