hydraulic leak on 53 cub
my hydraulic leaks out of left front side, but i cannot actually see where it comes from. the hydraulic pump seems fine, but the hydraulic fluid in valve / cylinder block leaks. i know there are kits and o rings to install, is this repair of this nature hard to do, or can a rookie figure this out....looking for any help. Jim

Get the numbers off the hydro block. There are different kits for different blocks. There is an inlet screen that is not in the kit. Clean Clean Clean is the to do when working on one of these.

Mine was leaking, took it off, rebuilt it and it still leaks. It is the bottom gasket.... I should have used some sealant on it. If it works well and the leak isn't excessive you can just keep it topped off and not worry about it. Usually I wouldn't recommend that, but it is a pretty big job to change that simple gasket. The hood needs to come off....
