Rear Tires

Postby billboyM » Fri Feb 29, 2008 10:13 pm

There's been some discussion about 8.3's vs 9.5's for rear tires. I know I'll need to replace mine, maybe this summer...
What is the difference in height for each size when mounted?
If it ain't broke... don't break it!

tire height

Postby elkshead » Fri Feb 29, 2008 10:25 pm

there must be a chart or something
The guy at Les said the difference between a 9.5 and a 11.2 was about 3" in height. 41" vs 44"

I get about 2" taller based upon a side wall height of 75% of the tread width.

BUT. The only way to know for sure is to put two tires - same construction, same manufacturer, side by side.
I have an excuse. CRS.

That is true Eugene, as I have two Cubs with 8.3's on both of them and they are even different heights. Noticeably different, more than an inch and both sets of tires are new.

I was told that ag tires are considered 100% aspect ratio. ( height to width) but have noticed a difference in the same size of tires in different brands.
