Johnny, you will find there are many opinions on the subject of oil. I use 10W30 in my Cub, the same oil I use my other engines. So far so good. I'm sure other opinions and suggestions will be along shortly.

J.R.: I like 10-30 this time of year as the Cub turns over a little quicker when the temp drops below freezing.
Thank the Farmer for your food and thank Wall Street for leaving you too poor to buy any.

Most Cubs were run on IH oil, straight 30 wt. Its still available from Case/IH and is called Lo Ash. Its even cheaper than most other oil these days and you can't go wrong there

I use Lo Ash in five of my six Cubs, and thet all say they are quite happy with the stuff.

CaseIH low Ash 30 w would be my first choice, it has enough detergent about 10%, to keep things clean. I have used 10-30 but have had to prime the oil pump after a Cub has sat for long periods between starts. No matter what you decide on use detergent oil.
