That's a negative....... 501 is safely tucked away....... Can't say I blame the guy though! :D Not sure who has the lowest number cub on here, but I believe it's been asked before.

Brandon Webb has a three digit or a very low four digit. Mine is in the low 2700's.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Low number cub

Postby Steve K. CALIF » Wed Feb 20, 2008 12:03 pm

Hello All,
I have cub #550. Apart and awaiting summer to go back together.
I think others on here have lower number cubs, though.

There was quite a discussion about this. There is some documentation about the dealer in NC where the last one was shipped and sold. I am surprised it was not retained for a museum or a "insider" but maybe they were glad to see the line go away if it was losing money.

Anyway it has not been tracked down, or at least no one has fessed up because they are waiting to close a deal to buy it. At least 2 members on the Forum have been hunting for the last Cub. i think some of this was discussed in the topic "The last Red Cub" as there is a good chance according to some that the last Cub was painted red. My '77 is red, but not quite new enough. I'd love to find that one myself but it is probably down in the tobacco country where it seems that a lot of the last cubs were sold.

TrentM has been compiling a list of the last 100 cubs. We know of 4 that are in NC. 253611(R), 253636(Y), 253666, 253685(?).

Here is a link to the topic I have on the 1979 Cubs that I know of. If anyone knows of more, I'd be interested to know the colors.
