49 rebuild, part 3

Postby jwcoop » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:38 pm

Hey Guys,

I'm coming along on my teardown. Here are a couple of pictures:

I have to buy an engine stand tomorrow and then I can remove the engine.

I looked through my dad's old tools before I started this job and found his old speed wrench (at least that's what he called it). It is really great for removing a lot of bolts in a hurry.
Do any of you folks use them?

I'll keep you posted.

jc - looks like you are making headway. I have a speedwrench but seldom use it. It is handier for re-assembly than dis-assembly in my opinion.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

You mean one of these;

Yup, got one of those as well. Only time I use it is when I change tires over. Without air tools it makes the task of taking the lug nuts off pretty quick.

Yep, thats it. Only mine is about 50 yrs. old so it looks a little bit different.

I also found his old valve lifter and lap tool. Glad I took the time to look.
