What are they...

...besides plain old holes? I found a hood at a reasonable price on ePay and Yogie is holding it in his barn for me. He said it has two holes next to each other in it that appear factory. I am not talking about the oiler holes.

My suspicion is that a PO had mounted an aftermarket guage since the holes seem to have that spacing. But I am no expert. Did the Cub offer anything that would have come mounted on the hood? I'm guessing that any option would have been dealer installed.

And btw, if Yogie tries to offer you a hood at a ridiculously low price call me.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

My Dad's Lo-boy had some holes almost in the same place. His was a DOT cub and they probably were there for mounting flashing lights or SMV signs while mowing the ROW.

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

They're probably just holes. Some folks just shouldn't have drills. Rambo's hood had more than a dozen random holes for no apparent reason. That's the bright side of a hood that needs a lot of work... A little more welding can be taken in stride. Today was the day to do all the repair work on the hood for RatCub in preparation for sandblasting. It was probably the easiest hood job I've had.

I fixed a hood last year for WKPoor. It had 3 holes and one went into the gas tank
