I painted one of my rear rims silver but it seems real shiny and bright.
i was thinking about using cold Zinc galvanizing spray that we use on antenna towers and such.

the goal being a color more in keeping with what was originally on the tracters? any thoughts :?:

or am i off base here?

I wouldn`t worry about it. I painted my rims silver and they were bright & shiney for awhile and then they turned dull silver. I personally prefered the nice bright shiney silver with the shiney red wheel discs.

On Dad's Allis C we used Con Lux high temp silver and it looked great and is really tough. We brushed it on over some rattle can gray primer and it still looks good about 6 years later. T.J.

As the original rims were galvanized, I think it would look fine.

I used Rustolium Cold Galv. In a soray can on the yellar one .
After 2 years a lot of use and many cleanings they still look like galv.
