another disc question
My disc plow is missing a couple of chunks on the edge. can i weld and grind it without harming the temper?

Dan, wleding would probably work on a disk harrow, but a disk plow encounters a lot more stress than the harrow. I believe they are still available form IH, but a little pricey. I would suggest trying to weld it, or maybe having a pro do it depending on your ability.

It is not a crack, it has a couple of different areas with a chunk broke out. I dont plan to do much plowing with it and it should last quite a few more years.
I have already plowed my garden areas with it for this year. i'll let it go through a few freezes and probably give it another plowing before the cool season planting. But it shouldnt be too hard to plow now. thanks
