Plow Help
I just talked to Ralph as I need a rear rockshaft to operate my plough. He has one, but now I aparently need the DRAFT Control Lever. (Which Ralph does not posess) I'm not real woried about being authentic, just about turning the earth over. I was wondering if anyone had a work around for this.

Mike- I like that idea, too. I've thought about getting a manual lift to raise rear cultivators, while using the TC for the front gangs (allows you to complete the row, instead of having the rears raise when the fronts hit the end). Your solution is another good reason to have the manual lift along with the TC. I also like having all controls on the left side.

Trent,
You'll like the split system... especially if you plant short rows. It wouldn't make a lot of difference in a large field but it matters on a short row if you have to drop the cultivators late and raise early.
I've been doing the split system for several years. I like it.
Now, the plow solution. I like it too. Another advantage is it should be easier to climb aboard without the depth lever in the way. It will be difficult to adjust the helper spring on the hand lift due to the varying load depending on the dirt on the share. With the TC you can drive to the end, stop, and lift the submerged plow.

Very Nice..
Mike,
Very good solution. I will look for a rear lift handle to come along. have a feeling that will come in handy quite often.
Does make me wonder if one of those by-pass blocks for the TC you see on E-Bay would not work also. If the pressure works independantly from the TC Rockshaft I could hook up another lift.

Mike:
That would be the case I do belive. I have a custom By-Pass Block and a Cessna Eaton CC valve to run the angle cylinder on my blade. So, I guess the By-Pass would be a good idea. There are a few versions around, check and see which would be best for you. I know I will be ordering another one eventually from the Master Class Shop :!:

Gee, I thought I was the only one anal enought to worry about three feet of wheel track at the end of a row.
I was jealous of the split system on the "A" when I came up with this idea years ago. I first used the split system planting potatoes; I could run a lay-off plow on the rear, and disc hillers on the front to cover the sets.
Rudi: I don't know if there is enough to require a how-to. A piece of fairly stout metal with a 5/8" and a 1/2" hole 33 inches apart. A piece of 3/8" X 2 1/2" angle 1 1/2" long with a 5/8" and 1/2" hole in each side. Bolt together and plow. There are more pictures in my album.
An auxillary hydraulic cylinder would work too. Atached to one of the mounting pads on the torque tube. the lower end could attach anywhere on the drawbar. All you need is about 6" verticle movement.
Best,
Mike
