I have one of the OEM replacement boxes on my backhoe cub. I couldn't tell any difference in quality between the original. Everything was a carbon copy. Now, the cheap ones on ebay  if they would just take the time to put a heavy light brkt on, it would be enough to get you by for awhile, but the way they are---JUNK. They got me once, but won't again  I contacted the seller and complained about the worthless brkt and he offered to send me an original brkt. He knew what I was talking about but still sells them.

Norm makes a super quality box too. "Unique Design Workshop" in Degraff and his number is 937-585-6475. Norm's boxes are powder coated IH Red. He also makes excellent tool boxes(powder coated red) for the cubs.

KYcub638. I have two of those boxes. They are made by Larry Ginow up in Limbuger, WI. It beats the OEM boxes; for my money its the best one out there. Very well made. I also have an OEM box in the garage. The top of the lid has stamping marks showing through and its not even square.

I wonder what happened to Tom's Battery Boxes that were custom made? Maybe not enough business? Don't know... too bad, they were good.

The ones from DeGraff look to be excellent. As long as they stay reasonable in price, they will always have customers. I hope Norm makes more of them.

Rick do you an email address for him? I would like to add him to the specialty services page if he agrees... would be nice to see what else he does.

Let me know please?

My experience with the eBay battery box and other parts convinced me that buying new Cub parts off eBay is a waste of time and money. If I need new parts, it is either TM or the Case dealer. If new parts cannot be found, then Ralph or one of the other site sponsors for "experienced" parts.

If you are determined to "get a good deal" by buying a cheap battery box, let me know. I have one that needs a new home.

Rudi, I don't see an email for Norm. He has an add on page 81 with pictures(top, center), in the current December issue of Red Power Magizine.

Pilot Knob Restorations sells an exact replica of original box, complete with light bracket. I bought a box from them last June at RPR in Bloomsburg. My original cover was in excellant shape, so I bought only the box and front for $66. The total box, complete with cover, is $98. My old cover fit perfectly and the box bolted right to the tractor. They are fine people to deal with.

Ebay Battery Boxes

Postby Larry Barb Dotson » Wed Dec 26, 2007 10:34 am

I must agree with Rich. I have been getting my battery boxes from Norm for several years. If I need one I just call and order it as I know the quatity is equal or superior to any others made. Norm has been at the last 2 Ohio Cubfests with his IH stuff. He makes toolbox steps for many makes. His prices are very fair for such high quality parts. You will also find him to be a very nice man to work with.
