Congrats on rescuing the little Cubbie from the honeysuckles. It never ceases to amaze me, at the way people will treat, probably the most infectious little tractor ever built. Oh well, guess not everyone shares our love an appreciation of the Cub. If she were mine, I would bring her to life, restore her and then name her Honeysuckle Rose. 8) , she will be a rose I hope. Got it running today. No smoke, no knocks, all gears sound good and PTO works fine. The Hyrdo unit isn't working. I only have garage space for the next 6 weeks and I don't know if I'll have the time to blast paint, fix the hydro and other little stuff as it comes up. With that in mind, I'm debating if I should part it out, go for the restoration or sell it now.

If it's in as good a shape as you say then sell it whole. Somebody will want it. Where is it located?
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Nice looking tractor :D :D

I'm sure you will have no trouble selling it if you decide not to keep it and restore it.

Power Cranking

Postby BIGHOSS » Sat Dec 15, 2007 9:50 pm

Just wondering if a 1/2" air impact wrench with the correct fitting, would turn over the engine fast enough to crank? You could make one pretty easy with a 5/8" bolt. I know some of you must have tried something like this.

Great find Mark and you got it going so fast!
And like Pete says, the way people treat them it makes you wonder but you know it's not confined to just cubs.If it wasn't for them we would not have any good projects.
