IH 3160 mowing deck

Postby rpruitt96 » Mon Nov 26, 2007 10:07 pm

Just need to know if anyone has ever used or seen a 3160 mowing deck on a cub. I have a chance to buy one and wondering if it would be much trouble to install on a cub.

I seem to recall a recent post where BigBill was doing this with a 3260? Of course, I'm assuming the 3160 and 3260 are similar, but I'm not familiar with them. Try doing a search or ask BigBill and see if he got it to work.

I'm planning on mounting my int3260 mower deck on my fcub in the spring. It should work and the mounting should be easy too. You need an angled rear mule drive from the PTO to put the belts down the centerline of the tractor to the deck. I figure to use the drive belt as a guide to position the deck in the correct spot too then make the rails to hold the deck inplace. I think the rails that hold the mower deck inplace can be bolted to the finals. I would add a belt tentioner on the rear mule drive too even though the 3160 on the int154 cub didn't have one but the 3260 does. Or make one pulley adjustable with slots so it can be tentioned correctly so broken center spindles won't occur because of the belt being too tight. I was more worried about the fcub not having enough hp but the guys here said it will work. The lifting can be done last from the rocker shaft(hyd) with chains.

The only other problem is what color to paint the INT 3260 deck? I been thinking farmall red....or INT white...
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Yes, the 3160 was used on the 154.
