For those of you with a bent towards fabrication, (little shop humor...), here is a dimensioned drawing on the Fast Hitch spike or point. David Bennett kindly supplied the dimensions taken from his Leinbach blade.
Since the material is 1" thick, I think I'm probably going to buy some points from Leinbach rather than make my own. If I could find a source of 1" x 3" bar stock, making my own would be a more attractive proposition. But torch cutting 1" plate is a pain and schlepping around 1" plate is even more of a pain.
Anyway, for those interested, here it is.

I understand about the point narrowing both horizontally and vertically. This particular point is the Leinbach which does not have that taper. I'm also putting together a drawing of the Fast Hitch pocket. That will serve as maximum dimensions for the point.

The points don't have to be tapered on the sides, my Coleman point has a shim on either side to help eliminate sidewaws slop. More important is to taper the point on the underside, about 4 or 5 inches back. Need to find my drawings and pattern to post on forum.
