I’m putting the new Woods mower deck on the Farmall Cub.
I’m having one heck of a time getting the 6†pulley on the drive shaft.
I’m using a 2 pd. hammer and a 2x4, but the thing is only half way on the drive shaft.
Has anyone else had this much trouble?
Can I use the 4†pulley from the cub sickle mower bar instead?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The woods pulley should have two small bolts and what looks like a washer on it, which you need to take off. Once those are off, you should be able to slide the pulley onto the shaft without any problem. Then you re-install the small bolts and washer. Someone should have a picture to show you.

Your pulley should be a 2 piece taper lock hub type. Loosen and remove the 2 bolts Bill mentioned. Then thread the bolts into the other 2 holes you see and push the pulley off the hub. Once the hub is loose, it will slide onto the pto shaft easily. Position the pulley where you want it and then tighten the hub to the outer pulley.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
