Proper yellow paint

Postby wdbtchr » Sun Sep 23, 2007 4:31 pm

What is the proper shade of Yellow paint for a late model Cub? I just bought a '67 Cub down in Arkansas and after a few minor repairs I'm going to need to do some touch ups. The local farm supply doesn't have an IH yellow color in tractor and implement paint. I already have Catipilar yellow, Case yellow and Safety yellow, but none seem close to the yeliow on the tractor. Is there an IH yellow that I don't know about? The paint looks to be original on the tractor.

Try a cub cadet dealer. They should have the yellow. Ed

A Case IH dealer has the correct Federal Yellow. The Yellow from a Cub Cadet dealer may or may not be the correct shade, because they have at least 3 different shades, plus the Cub Cadet paint is more expensive than the Fed Yellow from Case IH. It can also be mixed by auto paint suppliers.
