Planter Drive Sprocket Part #
Hi All
Can someone provide me with the 172/ 174 Planter Drive Sprocket Part # and type of drive chain used to run the whole operation? Also what is the length of chain I need? I got my planter home and I think that is all I am missing to get this wonderful new implement spinning (well that and some penetrating oil and grease) I also seems to be missing, according to the manual on Rudi's server, the down pressure rod and bracket but have noticed that more people don't seem to have them than do. Is this an unnecessary item or just didn't come on all years models?
Thanks
Brian

Brian, the part number for the 10 tooth drive sprocket is: 512 210 R1.
The #62 chain part number is: PO10349 and you will need approximately 10 feet of this chain. Hope this helps. Pete
Do you know which pressure rod you are speaking of? There is one on the front of the runner frame that applys pressure to the press wheel and one on the right side that attaches to the lift.

Hi Pete
Yeah the one that bolts on the right wheel final drive. Was there two different sprockets available?
The pressure rod is the one on the front of the runner frame that applies pressure to the press wheel. I am missing this. Is this necessary?
Thanks
Brian

Brian, the above part number for that drive sprocket is correct and it is a 10 tooth.
The down pressure rod on the runner frame is necessary to apply pressure to the covering frame. I don't have a parts number for the complete assembly but can give you the individual part numbers if you would like them. Pete

After searching earlier posts on the subject I found the parts cataloque on Rudi's server. Item #15 shows a 13 tooth sprocket. This is like the one being sold on ebay. Would my local Case/IH dealer be able to get his hands on this? Which one do I need? 13 teeth, 10 teeth...? It says 'for planters '55 and since'
Trent
The pressure rod assembly is comprised of Items #1-4,7-11 & 22 in the following diagram.

Brian, look at the picture of Trent's above. On the cardboard there are to gears wired together, beside them to the right is the gear that you need. Pete
Also, the rod and pressure springs you show in your scan from Rudi's manual is a part of the lift assist mechanism, not the planter frame wheel pressure adustment.
Your e-mail is on the way. Pete
