Turf Tires

Postby Noproblem » Sun Feb 04, 2007 3:01 pm

I've settled on turf tires for my loboy (just using it for parades and hauling the grandkids around) and need some tire numbers. I want to use a 9.5x24, but the ones I see on ebay are squared off, and I want the rounded shoulders. If anyone has brand names and numbers I would appreciate the info.
Thanks,
Mike

I got Firestones from Miller for my Loboy--they're rounded and work very well.

Mike, You might get lucky like I did last month and find a used set on eBay :!: I bought a complete set of tires & rims from a guy in Findlay Ohio off of a 184 Low-Boy. The sellers ID is: apileexc

The rear tires are Goodyear brand, and they are rounded at the edges. I was thinking of buying a new set of turf tires as I use my cub mostly for mowing, but when I ran across this deal on eBay, I couldn't refuse as I got the complete set of fronts & rears :!:

Of course I don't have a use for the fronts (I'll probably resell them on the Forum or on eBay) as the hub is part of the entire rim assembly.

You might want to check and see what he has listed on eBay as he parts out a lot of of the later model Lo-Boy's.

I haven't paid any attention to the ones sold on Ebay, but if they are not inflated they will look squared off, then become more round as inflated.

I ended up on a major quest for turf tires and found the only new ones
offered in an 8.3x24 size were Firestones at approx: $195.00 ea plus
shipping from Miller Tire. As to 9.5x24, I never ran across anything
offered in that size (Not that they aren't out there)

Thanks to all who replied or will concerning the turf tires. It is looking like when the restroration is complete I should be able to swap my Cub in for a Hummer, with a little to boot ! I paid too much for it and now I am spending more to ease the pain. Does anyone know of a 12 Step group for Tractor Addiction?

Step 1 is to buy another tractor!

That's the great part about this hobby. Some day your widow will be able to recover some of your costs. Consider how much she could recover if you had taken up golf instead.
